Failure is something to be avoided, but it is also a temporary setback on a bigger, more significant course and what truly matters is to learn from that failure. (Demmers, 2014)

Datuk Yusuf Taiyoob is a perfect example of why failure should never stop you from following your dreams or vision. Yusuf Taiyoob is a well-known to all Malaysians because it is famous of their dates. Yusuf first recounted his venture into the business world by selling perfumes at his grandfather’s shop near Bayan Lepas Airport in Penang in 1979. But unfortunately, his perfume business was failing to launch. He used to sell the perfume to Kuala Lumpur to the famous company, but he was driven out and his products were thrown away. Then Yusuf decided to venture into different types of business by selling consumer product such as spices, cashew nuts, almonds and raisins. During the period of trying other products, he faced many difficulties and challenges until he involves into date business which is a well-known product in Malaysia.

In early involvement in the date business, Yusuf was cheated many times. The first barrier that he met is the suppliers provided him with low quality dates. However, Datuk Yusuf did not panic and tried to solve the problems by himself. Since then, he has been careful in choosing the supplier in order to keep the quality of the dates. In order to ensure the quality, he went to meet the suppliers of the dates all by himself. Datuk Yusuf is an entrepreneur who laid oncustomer satisfaction, where he gives guarantee that whenever the date damage, the customer can change with other dates.

In conclusion, Datuk Yusuf is a person who willingly takes the failure is an option to start into a new dates business. Although he failed in many types of business, but he is never giving up and keep on going until success in the dates business.
